If being a crafty businessman, loving father, and reasonably reliable husband takes a lot of energy, then Herb Oldie has led an exhausting life.

Coral is married to Herb, and is the adoptive mother of Mary-Sue Pleasant.

Herb is enjoying is retirement, using his new time to birdwatch and learn a few new skills.

Their neighbour, Brandi Broke, walks by and Coral invites her in to get to know her. Or to flex at her. Whatever she's doing, it works, as by the end of the visit she and Brandi are friends.

Even though Coral loves curling up and reading her books, she also loves providing for her friends and family. She hopes she can learn enough sewing to one day make Brandi's children a toy, but for now she works on perfecting her potholders.
